Get into some seasonally appropriate books for chapter-book readers!

First is a fiction book with a non-fiction tie-in, "Magic Tree House: Balto of the Blue Dawn"?(Random House, $12.99) by Mary Pope Osborne. Jack and Annie are on a mission in Nome, Alaska in 1925 to help bring medicine from Anchorage with the help of a dogsled team. When the team goes lost, it's up to the brother and sister to find them in the midst of a big snowstorm!

In the non-fiction tie-in, "Magic Tree House Fact Tracker: Dogsledding and Extreme Sports" by Mary Pope Osborne and Natalie Pope Boyce (Random House, $5.99,) kids can read more about sled dogs, the Idarod and much more.

Another non-fiction book for young chapter book readers takes kids through the history of the big game in "What Is the Super Bowl" by Dina Anastasio (Grosset & Dunlap, $5.99.) Kids can learn how much those commercials cost, facts about the first Super Bowl, and information about many of the players and games. There is also an insert of photos from games.
